Do they have gluten free soy sauce available??
We enjoy Midori's, especially for celebration lunches. Our son loves the ramen bowl--almost a work of art. Our faves are mini bento boxes, sushi, and tempura. The front-of-house staff are attentive, and the people doing the magic in back earn our respect.
MoreA lovely, simple, fun place to get sushi and other fare, where you can enjoy time with loved ones.
MoreWe went in with high expectations because they had onigiri and donburi beef bowls on the menu. The reviews rated them at 4.5+ so we felt it would be an automatic win. We called to enquire about the wait, 1 table available and they held it for us. We arrived and were seated, and were told certain ramen items weren’t available. No problem. I ordered and oolong tea and looked over the menu. Items were penciled out, but nothing we wanted so ok so far. We didn’t see onigiri, but they had a deep fried rice ball so we were ok. Time to order, no rice balls, no beef bowls, after a second of disappointment the waitress asked if I needed more time. I said, no I think we should leave since nothing else appealed to me. The waitress apologized and got the bill for the tea. We didn’t even drink the tea, but I paid anyway and left. Automatically the tea should have been free, but that’s a piece of customer service that seems to be missing in Minneapolis.
MoreI love the food and simple atmosphere. I've been enjoying Midori's food for over ten years and I've never been let down. Always enjoy going here.
MoreGreat place with fun decor. Went over happy hour and had a great meal. Had three happy hour rolls and one of the full price menu. All we great, with the presentation being pleasantly surprising. Staff was courteous and polite. I would come here again for sure.
MoreWe really enjoyed our visit to Midori's. My daughter is taking an intercultural class in college and one of her assignments was to go eat at one of 10 or 12 restaurants, and Midori's was on the list. She had never been to a Japanese restaurant so she explorered a new dish and really enjoyed it. I stuck with teriyaki chicken which was excellent. We tried some fried wonton desert and ice cream stuffed mochi. The food was delicious from soup to desert. Service was excellent as well. It was a slow night so we got extra attention.
MoreFood and service was good
I love the Floating World cafe. Not only is the food good and the staff friendly, the decor is whimsical and the atmosphere is intimate ajd pleasant.
MoreBeautifully prepared soup, sushi and apps. Brought to the table at perfect intervals (not too slow like in the past). Great service.
Morealways eat here when i come back to minneapolis. tempura bento and agedashi tofu are my go tos
MoreWe came to this spot for dinner. we heard about this spot from a lot of people. Well, we were not disappointed. we were warmly welcomed by the crew and we had a fantastic feeling. The meal was yummy. We had a great time and we shall definitely come back again. Warmly recommended.
MoreBest Japanese Restuarant in Minnesota
Great little cafe with a hipster vibe. Really good happy hour. Great gyoza. The banana wontons are a delicious desserts that come with an amazing sauce. If you like banana, you must try them. Couple things to know, no parking and no hard liquor.
MoreGood service, great atmosphere, and awesome food. Would definitely recommend. Their lemon and cheese dessert wonton is both unique and delicious. I look forward to dining here again!
Morespectacular place to be. lovely in every sense. my fave sushi in Twin Cities.
I've been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and finally got to tonight! As a vegetarian I was so pleased with the options. I got the vegetarian bento and since it was to go everything was packed so nicely! I ordered a tea and a hand written note was added to me order with how to make the extra tea. On top of the amazing service the food was so good! I live in the suburbs and will absolutely be drive the extra time to get food here!
MoreThe service and food is excellent! My son had been waiting so long to take me here! Now I know why is his favorite restaraunt! Already can't wait to cone back.... :)
MoreNice cozy atmosphere, excellent service and spectacular food. I have had several types of ramen, tempura and bento boxes. Everything is wonderful and never disappoints. Highly recommended!
MoreThe anago (ocean eel) was amazing! Their dessert is awesome. I wish they would have their menu in stock though because we had to change our order three times.
MoreBest sushi in Minnesota. This is the place I go when I miss Japan
Straight up excellent! The food was super delicious and the service was perfect. I recommend this place highly!
MoreUnder the radar sushi spot, one of the best town! Unique rolls and fun restaurant with some quirks. For more detailed food reviews check out fancydinner.club and follow us on Instagram @fancydinnerclub
MoreA great local spot for sushi and other Japanese treats. Very good value and good service.
MoreSuper tasty sushi at a reasonable price in a fun atmosphere 🍣
Great Wednesday happy hour.. all day
Great sushi and other Asian dishes all at a great price. Would highly recommend.
Excellent little spot for sushi, sake, tea, and other authentic Japanese delights. I’ve only been once so far, but was thoroughly impressed and can’t wait to go back. This place is small and easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there, yet I believe they’ve been in operation for more than 15 years — a testament to their quality and service.
MoreWould definitely recommend trying this spot. Exceptional mood, tasty food, good customer service. Great work.
MoreAwesome vegan ramen
Excellent sushi the night we were there. Decent sake selection. Small and intimate.
MoreI had some of the best Ramen I've ever had. For the price, however, the bowl could have been bigger and a bit more noodles. Flavor? Amazing.
MoreGood food, nice staff
A great place! Absolutely loved the food!
A nice family-run restaurant with delicious food. They have both authentic Japanese dishes and American-fusion dishes. The tempura is light and crispy. The udon is soft and chewy with a yummy savory broth. The sushi is good. They have a large selection of teas. The service is good, but can be slow at times, so don't go if you are in a hurry. But if you have the time, it's worth the wait.
MoreVery accommodating to a vegan diet. The prices are fair and the quality superb. Nice tea selection too. Small yet comfortable sized dinning area, I liked the atmosphere.
MoreExcellent quality sushi, delicious and fresh. Pleasant restaurant, good service. Midori's is the best restaurant sushi we've had in the twin cities (we've tried a lot). We got sashimi, fried scallops and gyoza, all amazing. This place embraces the slow food movement; quality takes time. Service was good, not rushed or slow. If you're looking for dine & go, look elsewhere. If you're looking for exquisite, traditional sushi made by Japanese hands, this is the place for you.
MoreThis restaurant is my number one place. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this place. when I I need a proper lunchon, this place comes straight to my mind. best and food and a rich menu.helpful crew, and great ambience. And very important, the charge is modest. I tell about this place with no doubt.
MoreOverall my experience here was good. The server we had was really quirky, but a nice guy and the sushi was decent. I went here for the Wednesday happy hour, which made the prices really good. That being said, I would not go during a normal time, because the quality was that of a less expensive sushi and I would not have enjoyed myself nearly as much if I paid full price here.
MoreThe service was so incredibly slow. Some items were missing from our order that we never got and we had to request some things twice. The sake cocktails were overly sweet. The drinks came slow. The food came slow. The gyoza was good. The sushi got mixed reviews from our group. Some said it was good some said it was just okay. Definitely bummed out with the experience.
MoreCozy atmosphere with reasonable decor. My vegetarian wife was thrilled with the number of options for her, with nearly every soup having a choice of fish or mushroom broth. We ordered the vegetable dumpling appetizer (gyoza) which were quite good, and she got the mini bento box with vegetables tempura and sushi. She enjoyed it immensely, especially the tempura. My Kitsune Soba (mushroom broth) was good, but I was left wanting for more stuff (seaweed, scallions, etc.) and fewer noodles. My wife is very excited to come back and wants to get the biggest plate of tempura possible.
More3 stars because I would like to see a bit more consistency in their sushi. My rolls were fine but my partner’s spicy tuna was extremely spicy on one end but not the other. He pulled chunks of an entire Thai pepper from just one piece. Will go back though and will change my review if the second visit is better
MoreConstantly amazed by what gets voted as good sushi in the Twin Cities. This was no exception to the rule of disappointment after reading rave reviews. Not to mention, they were out of nearly half of what we tried to order. Service was awkward and took away from the rare weekend shared meal out that we tried to salvage. Confident I would not go back.
MoreThe service was well below average. The quality of the meal was not worth the nearly $150 spent on it. We waited nearly half an hour before our drink order was even taken, waited an additional 20 minutes for drinks to come out, and nearly walked out. There were several mistakes with our food order, and then the power went out in the restaurant. I must admit that I was pretty confused and surprised after hearing such good things about this place. The only redeeming quality was that they do have a few types of fish on the sushi menu that you don't always see around Minneapolis. I also found the spam sushi pigs to be painfully adorable. That said, I would not eat here again. Apparently it is a shadow of the quality that it used to be.
MoreBest sushi I have had in the Twin Cities and I have been to a lot of different places. It is pretty small which I think allows them to have a lot of quality control when it comes to the fish and rice. The temperature is on point and the sushi is prepared perfectly. My wife got a rice bowl which was also really good. The service was great and the location is really cool. A very unique spot with great sushi. GO HERE!
MoreGood food and great presentation. Food looks and tastes very authentic. Cost is good and service is good as well.
MoreIt's our favorite sushi place - not fancy, but top notch sushi for the region and affordable. Midori makes all the sushi I think. They have a special every day of the week. They can also be busy, so you might want reservations or to get there early.
MoreWonderful food and atmosphere. Loved the choices for vegetarians. The veggie gyoza was spectacular. Our waiter was very nice.

MoreSushi was just OK, nothing fancy. I went on a Wednesday, they have all night happy hour with a few select menu items and drinks for a discount. I ordered Tuna Avo roll, spicy salmon roll, Dynamite roll, and Crunchy spider roll. SO glad 3 out of 4 were on the Happy Special otherwise would have been way over priced for quality and quantity. The restaurant smelled fishy. I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend.
MoreReally top-notch food at an affordable price. Make sure to have a reservation or be ready to wait up to an hour for a table. We had a group reservation and we brought kids and it worked out, just be aware there's limited space so it'll be tight 🤗 Keep those little hands away from all the servingware.Had sushi rolls, nigiri, bento boxes, ramen, gyozas, and tempura and it was all amazing. Lots of different varieties of tea and huge selection of sushi rolls. It is possible not every menu item is available that day but there's plenty to choose from and it just means you'll need to come back to enjoy it all.
